United States Attorney W. WALTER WILKINS stated that Xavier Fabio Reyes, age 42, of Murrell’s Inlet, SC, pled guilty in federal court in Florence to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute OxyCodone, a violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 846. United States District Judge Terry L. Wooten of Florence accepted the plea and will impose sentence after he has reviewed the presentence report which will be prepared by the U.S. Probation Office.
Reyes sold Oxycodone and Hydrocodone to undercover agents on four occasions in July 2008 in Horry County. Reyes was arrested the following month when attempting to negotiate an additional sale of 50 Oxycodone tablets to an undercover agent.
Mr. Wilkins stated the maximum penalty Reyes can receive is a fine of $1,000,000.00 and imprisonment for 20 years.
The case was investigated by agents of the Horry County Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant United States Attorney William E. Day, II, of the Florence office handled the case.
