Hartsville, S.C. - Coker and Limestone continued their three game Conference Carolinas baseball series with a double-header on Sunday afternoon at Tom J. New Field. Limestone took both games of the double-header, winning game one 6-4 and winning game two 7-4.

The losses drop Coker to 5-6 overall, and 1-2 in the conference, while Limestone improves to 6-3 overall, and 2-1 in the conference.

Game One
Game one was a pitcher's duel through the first three innings of play with neither pitcher giving the other teams hitters anything to work with. It wasn't until the top of the fourth that Limestone finally tallied a run, but Coker quickly answered with four runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning, giving Coker a 4-1 advantage.

Limestone responded with three runs in the top of the fifth evening things at four and then with a pair of runs in the sixth they took the lead and the eventual win, 6-4.

Josh Daniels (Troy, IL) (0-1) took the loss, allowing two runs on four hits in two-thirds of an inning of work. Cobra starter, Justin Collier (Laurens, SC) threw five strong innings allowing four runs on five hits with four strikeouts.

Limestone hurler, Jordan Barnett threw a complete game for the Saints, allowing four runs on five hits with 10 strikeouts in seven innings of work.

At the plate, Brinley Griffin (Port St. John, FL) was 2-for-2 with and RBI and a run scored, while Matt Ammons (Chester, SC), Kyle Walker (Centralia, IL) and Trey Lynch (Florence, SC) each had a hit for the Cobras.

Leading the Saints were Greg Dailey and Joseph Maloney with two hits and two RBIs apiece, including a triple by Dailey, while David Christy also had two hits for Limestone.

Game Two
In game two, Limestone started where they left off in game one, scoring a run in each second and third innings, before adding a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth innings and they scored an insurance run in the seventh. Coker finally got on the board with a run in the fourth and a run in the fifth, and they tried to make a come back in seventh with a pair of runs, but that would be all the Saints pitching would allow.

Michael McAbee (1-0) earned his first win of the season, going four innings strong allowing just two runs on five hits with two strike outs, while Brock White (1) earned the save going three innings, allowing two runs on two hits with three strike outs.

Chris Thomas (Bluffton, SC) (0-1) took the loss for Coker, allowing five runs on seven hits in four innings of work.

Karl Ankersen (Mt. Pleasant, SC) led the Coker hitters, going 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored, while Nate Doinovan (Matthews, NC) was 1-for-3 with a double, and RBI and a run scored. Also getting hits for the Cobras were, Brian Luchsinger (Farmingville, NY), Taylor Evans (Arvada, CO) and Walker.

For the Saints, Christy was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, while Ryan McKenzie was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Aldo Mendezwas 2-for-3 with three runs scored.

Coker returns to action on Tuesday, as they host the Falcons of St. Augustine's College in a non-conference game, while Limestone will travel to Carson-Newman College.
