Hartsville, S.C. - Behind the double digit scoring of four players, the Mount Olive Trojans rolled past the Coker Cobras 91-67 in Conference Carolinas men's basketball Thursday night. The win, makes nine in a row for the Trojans and improves them to 15-7 overall, and 14-1 in the conference, while Coker drops to 10-12 overall, and 6-9 in the conference.
Kendick Easley, Craig Hayes, Aaron Dobson and Mike Holloman each scored in double figures, with Easley leading the way with 26 points for Mount Olive, including going 6-for-11 from 3-point range, while cleaning up six rebounds. Hayes had 18 points and eight rebounds and Dobson and Holloman had 16 and 15 points respectively.
Coker could not come up with an answer for the Trojan offense all night, especially the 3-point shot, as Mount Olive was 12-for-26 from beyond the arc, while shooting 50.8 percent from the field. The Cobras did manage to shot 51.9 percent from the field themselves, but could not match the Trojans shot total of 65 total shots, compared to Coker's 52.
For Coker, Mason Ambler (Atlanta, GA) was the leading scorer with 21 points and five rebounds, while Liam Kyle (Cleveland, OH) and Josh Poston (Myrtle Beach, SC) nine points and four and five boards respectively.
Coker and Mount Olive both return to the floor on Saturday, as Coker travels to Pfeiffer for a 7:30 p.m. game, and Mount Olive travels to Lees-McRae for a 4:00 p.m. game.
