Lady Cobras Tennis Squeaks out 5-4 Win

Hartsville, S.C. - With a pair of wins at No. 5 singles and No. 6 singles by Ashley Pace and Lindsay Crighton, led the Lady Cobras tennis team to a 5-4 win over West Alabama on Friday afternoon in a non-conference tennis match. The win improves Coker to 5-2 overall.

Pace's (Clinton, SC) 6-3, 6-2 win tied the match at four apiece and then Crighton's (Florence, SC) 6-2, 6-4 gave the Lady Cobras their third straight win. Along with the wins at No. 5 and No. 6, Alyssa Blanchard (Columbia, SC) won at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-2.

Rachel Lemar (London, England) and Blanchard won at No. 1 doubles, 8-4, with Cassidy Spencer (Wilkesboro, NC) and Crighton winning at No. 3 doubles, 8-2.

Coker returns to the courts on Saturday, as they play USC-Lancaster in a scrimmage at 2:00 p.m.
