ANDERSON, S.C. -- Keana Boyd scored 23 points and Shanice Wilson tallied 21 points to lead Anderson University to an 88-75 victory over Coker in a Conference Carolinas game Monday night at the Abney Center.
Anderson, 7-7 overall and 7-3 in the conference, won for the fourth time in its last five outings. The loss drops Coker to 4-9, 3-5.
Boyd, a senior from Newberry, S.C., has scored 23 or more points in six of Anderson's last nine games. Boyd was made three 3-point goals and was 10-for-13 from the free throw line.
Wilson, a junior from Piedmont, S.C., was 8-for-11 from the field and also pulled down 10 rebounds.
Anderson built a 10-point lead in the first 10 minutes of the game, but Coker used a 31-21 run to tie the game at 38 with 1:23 left. A field goal by Alexa Neal gave Anderson a 40-38 lead at the break.
After a tie at 40 early in the second half, the Lady Trojans went on a 23-12 run for a 63-52 lead with 9:58 to play. Coker got no closer than five points the rest of the way.
Neal chipped in 17 points and Kirsten Peterson added 10 points and five blocks for Anderson.
Coker was led by Kiesha Beavers with 22 points and Lotta Aaltonen with 17 points.
Anderson shot 54 percent in the second half to finish the game at 47 percent. Coker shot 45 percent in first half and 41 percent for the game.
Led by Neal, who had a game-high 11 rebounds, Anderson dominated the boards, 52-23. Anderson had 22 rebounds off the offensive glass and 21 second-effort points.
Anderson was 28-for-38 from the line, while Coker was 18-for-23.
Anderson travels to Pfeiffer Thursday night, while Coker hosts Erskine.
