FLORENCE, S.C. - Francis Marion University senior forward Kevin Clark has been selected to the 2009 Peach Belt Conference All-Conference Men’s Basketball Team.
Clark, a 6-7 200-pound native of Charlotte, is the first Patriot to garner All-PBC honors in four seasons. He was a third-team pick.
He is averaging 10.3 points and a team-leading 7.1 rebounds per game. He has connected on 43.4 percent of his field goal attempts and 68.9 percent of his free throws. He leads the team with 37 blocked shots and is ranked 86th nationally in that category. He is ranked seventh in the conference in rebounding, sixth in blocks, and fifth in defensive rebounding (4.8 per game).
He has also compiled 49 assists and 22 steals, while committing only 43 turnovers. He has recorded eight double-doubles (points/rebounds).
Clark has helped the Patriots to only their second winning season this decade with a 16-11 record. Francis Marion tied for fifth place in the PBC regular-season standings and will face Armstrong Atlantic State University on Friday at 5 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the 2009 Peach Belt Tournament in Aiken.
Clark played two seasons at Hampton University before transferring to FMU. He is a former All-Conference performer at Olympic High School.
