White Lake, N.C. - In a one-hole playoff, the Coker Cobras and Chris Marsh won the Carolina Sands Intercollegiate tournament. The Cobras dropped 11 strokes from their first round and held off the Barton Bulldogs for the win, while Marsh dropped two strokes to take home medalist honors.
Coker shot a combined 567 (-9) to bring home their second Carolina Sands in the last two years.
Marsh (Georgetown, SC) fired a combined 138 (-6), while John LaDow (Pottstown, PA) and Diego Polo (Guatemala City, Guatemala) each placed seventh with scores of 142 (-2). Jimmy Gillam (Tyrone, PA) shot a 145 (+1) and placed 13th, with Jared Crane (Greenville, SC) shot a 155 (+11).
Coker will now prepare for the 2009 Conference Carolinas Golf Tournament in Clemmons, N.C. on April 20-21.
